Anyone worried about YouTube’s potentially negative influence on television has reason to be absolutely horrified by “Fred: The Movie.” Nickelodeon’s feature-length adventure starring inexplicable online video phenomenon Fred Figglehorn (created and played by teen comedian Lucas Cruikshank) may succeed with the most devoted members of his tween fanbase, but prolonged exposure to such a deliberately irritating character could just as easily prove too much to handle. Parents will want to be anywhere Fred’s not….

Dam! And I thought we were harsh on Fred (vid below). Honestly, I don’t care how bad the movie is I hope it kicks butt. I’m so sick & tired of Hollywood ragging on tubers as if they’re all jokes. Sure Fred is annoying as hell but he’s a good kid who got to where he is without the help of a multi-million dollar corporation and its giant, marketing machine. I sometimes think Hollywood wants to see internet stars and shows fail because they’re scared New Media will take over. I’m sure “Fred: the movie” won’t be an Oscar winner but I still want it to get good ratings and do well just to rub it in all these Hollywood f@cks faces. Talk on Fred! We got your back, even if you are gay. (Just joking)

I don’t know about you guys but I am a sucker for these Jackass movies. I’ll be the first in line October 15th. i think it will be interesting to watch a low budget movie that was actually shot in 3d and not crafted in post. There are reports that some of the stunts also include rocket jetsking and even the traditional craft of bull riding. I keep wondering when we’re going to find out that one of these guys got killed but they just keep on going… thank god.

Oh boy. I really can’t believe that “Terminator Salvation” could be that much more of a letdown after “Terminator 3”. But, holy crap, was this a waste of $200 million dollars. You would think that with that much money on the line they would have at least checked to make sure they had a finished script. It felt like I was watching part of a movie.
The acting was good, the effects were good, the directing was so-so but wow talk about completely toothless. It was wall-to-wall action for two hours with no focus. It wouldn’t slow down long enough for everyone to take a breath and appreciate the action sequences. The director, McG, had to rely on throwing in a bunch of references to past terminator movies to give you sense of nostalgia, hoping to cover up the lack of story.
***SPOILERS***
I really don’t know how you can screw up the first meeting of John Connor and his father Kyle Reese or even the return of Arnold (his younger face from the 1984 movie pasted onto a younger body builder) as the kick ass original Terminator. It had no punch whatsoever. It was amazing how anti-climactic it was.
I can see now why Christian Bale threw that famous tantrum on the set of this movie. He must have realized a couple days in how much of a crapfest it was going to be. I can only surmise that because ILM did the effects for the movie, some of George Lucas’s damaged mojo must have rubbed off on the filmmakers. “You don’t need story or dialogue when you can create all these wonderful 3d effects now do you?”
I would recommend avoiding if you can. Go back and watch the original “Terminator” and “Judgement Day” and remember the good times.
