This Is It! Review
If you are not a fan of Michael Jackson’s music then you should not see this movie. However, if you grew up moon walking and loving Michael Jackson like I did you’re gonna love it. It’s basically the rehearsal footage of the last concert in the order of which the songs would have played. They also showed you what all the pre-shot interstitials and stages would have been like. I recently saw U2′s (highly produced) 360 tour and as great as that was I think Michael’s concert would have killed it. You knew and loved every song. Also, what I liked about the movie was how real/raw it showed Michael Jackson behind the scenes. It wasn’t all polished and perfect. It really gave me an appreciation not only of his talent but how passionate he was about his art. Just for the record, Michael was ripping up the stage for 50 and looked great. He died way beyond his years. I sadly thought after the movie, that doctor probably thinks to himself everyday if I just didn’t give him that extra dose he would still probably be with us today. What a bummer. Anyway, I’m happy for this movie and I’m glad we all got to see one last time what a great artist he truly was. I’ll miss you MJ. Thanks for being part of my childhood.

P.S. Yes, I’m an MJ queer.
Indeed very moving. Probably because we have some things in common. Keep it real, stay queer.
