It’s almost here, High School Sucks the Musical! That’s right, Zoron plays a gay teacher (not a far stretch) and I play the retarded, racist father (who’s dashingly good looking). Over the last year we’ve had the honor of shooting with Kings of My Space/Tubedeedo’ers PeeDeeFlo (Peter/Director), SUPEReeeGO (Eric G/my son), TimothyDeLaGhetto2 (stud) and many others. We love these guys and when we were asked to be a part of it we jumped at it! Hell, I was sold the moment I learned Zoron was going to be asked to wear ass-less chaps. What? I encouraged it… Noooo, alright maybe.

Sam Raimi to direct World of Warcraft movie

Not only is the World of Warcraft movie still in production, it’s just signed movie veteran Sam Raimi as director, publisher Blizzard announced today.

Raimi, who directed cult hits like “The Evil Dead,” “Army of Darkness,” and “Drag Me to Hell” will start filming Warcraft after completing work on Spider-Man 4, reports Variety. And if that’s not enough nerd-cred for Warcraft fans, Blizzard also announced they’re bringing in the production company behind last year’s record-breaking comic-book flick “The Dark Knight.”

Movies based on video games haven’t typically turned out very well, and that’s putting it mildly. But the stars seem to be aligning favorably for this particular venture. Warcraft’s world is rich with background lore and deep characters, the game’s polished visuals are ripe for a big screen treatment, and Raimi’s experience in cross-media productions speaks for itself. And with 12 million subscribers, Warcraft is already a massive hit. Could this be the first game-turned-movie to make it big? You’ll have to wait until at least 2010 to find out, but it’s hard not to be optimistic.

Terminator Salvation Review

Oh boy. I really can’t believe that “Terminator Salvation” could be that much more of a letdown after “Terminator 3”. But, holy crap, was this a waste of $200 million dollars. You would think that with that much money on the line they would have at least checked to make sure they had a finished script. It felt like I was watching part of a movie.
The acting was good, the effects were good, the directing was so-so but wow talk about completely toothless. It was wall-to-wall action for two hours with no focus. It wouldn’t slow down long enough for everyone to take a breath and appreciate the action sequences. The director, McG, had to rely on throwing in a bunch of references to past terminator movies to give you sense of nostalgia, hoping to cover up the lack of story.
***SPOILERS***
I really don’t know how you can screw up the first meeting of John Connor and his father Kyle Reese or even the return of Arnold (his younger face from the 1984 movie pasted onto a younger body builder) as the kick ass original Terminator. It had no punch whatsoever. It was amazing how anti-climactic it was.
I can see now why Christian Bale threw that famous tantrum on the set of this movie. He must have realized a couple days in how much of a crapfest it was going to be. I can only surmise that because ILM did the effects for the movie, some of George Lucas’s damaged mojo must have rubbed off on the filmmakers. “You don’t need story or dialogue when you can create all these wonderful 3d effects now do you?”
I would recommend avoiding if you can. Go back and watch the original “Terminator” and “Judgement Day” and remember the good times.
